Making its debut this year is Click: The Presentation Design Conference. Another sign that presentation design is being taken more seriously these days?
The holidays are coming. You know what that means, right? Yeah. OMG! We need it by the end of the year because we want to launch it January 2nd! So, while my expected workload is slow to normal, a lot of last minute things are coming through. Also, word has gotten out that I am working at this company now and a lot of people want me to touch all of their presentations. That isn’t a complaint, diary. It’s actually pretty flattering. Also, my initial templates are ready to be launched. I’ve given sneak peeks to some coworkers and they seem happy. I like bringing joy to people, especially when it comes to PowerPoint. Especially when they’re loud about it in the middle of the department. It strokes my ego
I am mentally exhausted today. End of the year is quiet one day, emergency requests the next. I keep getting people begging for help with Word. I hate Word. People think that because I know and like what I’m doing in PowerPoint, that the same goes for Word. I would set Word on fire if I could. Sorry, Clippy.
In other news, my new template was received very well. I am now working on the 4: 3 version of the template. After that, I’ll be creating a training program to teach my colleagues to not only use the new template, but also how best to use PowerPoint. I’m looking forward to that.
Are you active on Twitter? We just launched a Twitter list of Guild members, advisors, and directors.
I just finished up the new company template and sent it off to my boss. It’s the first time I have worked quite THAT much in XML, but I think I did ok. I mean, I didn’t break it at all, so that’s a plus! If the boss likes it, I’ll version it out to the 4:3 version and start working on the PowerPoint training that I’m supposed to be giving to the team in the next quarter. That should be a lot of fun, actually. I look forward to it. 🙂
